Dear PIALA Members,
Warm greetings from the Pacific Islands Association of Libraries, Archives, and Museums (PIALA)!
We are honored to announce the Karen Peacock Memorial Award, a scholarship opportunity established in partnership with the Hawai‘i Library Association (HLA) and PIALA. This award celebrates the legacy of Karen Peacock, a beloved scholar, mentor, and advocate for libraries and cultural heritage throughout the Pacific region.
The scholarship is designed to support professional development and continuing education opportunities for library, archives, and museum professionals from Pacific Island communities. It aims to honor Karen’s lifelong commitment to fostering collaboration, capacity building, and cultural preservation in the Pacific.
We encourage all eligible members to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to advance your professional growth and strengthen services for our island communities.
Details about eligibility, application guidelines, and deadlines are attached, and can also be found on our PIALA website https://piala-pacific.wixsite.com/piala-pacific.
Let’s continue to uplift one another and honor those who have paved the way for our Pacific heritage institutions.
Warm Regards,
